Droppin' In.
So, the other day I went and picked up NHL 2012 and while I was there I asked the guy about the Batman special edition and what it came with. He sold me on it, and long story short I pre-ordered it. The sequel to the Arkham Asylum, Arkham City looks pretty awesome, and to celebrate my spending of money I don't really have, I drew this picture. Bats get the drop on em. Plus, I havn't been able to post the work I've been currently working on and the school work is kind of lame so here's something to spice it up, I'm going to try and do 1 a week from now on.
Corn Still Life
Still life for my colouring class, and shhh it'll be a gift for my mommy for her birthday. I can say this online because she doesn't have the internet.
School work...YAY!!!
So it's been a month without posting any work, so I figured I'd start getting on it. Here are two of my first assignments in 2 different classes. The first is a letterhead from Communications Design course, pretty fun so far, next assignment is designing a billboard using photography and type. The second is from the Mechanical Zoo assignment from Illustrative Concepts, we had to use a process of mind mapping, which involves doodling like crazy with the ideas and images that come to mind on a specific subject to generate ideas. Pretty fun too. This here is my Mosq-needle. I had a couple other ideas as well but I'll leave those till later. Other than that, been working on my character designs for the cartoon commission and will be able to show some stuff off in the new year. PS I'll be posting these under my Sketchbook page for future references to anyone.
Update
So since Fan Expo, I havn't posted much of anything, mostly because of school starting and working on the character design and single issue 16 page comic I'm working on. I can't go into too much detail on the comic and character designs just yet, but eventually. School is going good, its getting my mind back into really thinking like an illustrator and artist. Well, back to work.
Fan Expo Exclusive Piece
So here's the exclusive piece I did at the Fan Expo, whoever bought the piece there has something no one else will be able to buy (that's why its exclusive). Robert Englund was there for the weekend and no, unfortunately I had little time to dedicate to going to see him, and the week approaching the Convention I had wanted to do one more piece and why not do the character that scared the living piss out of me as a child. Freddy Krueger used to terrify me when I was younger, and it wasn't until I was old enough to realize that scary movies are actually hilarious (thank you desensitization). So, sure you can sit there and save the image as and print off your own copy, but you didn't get it from me and I'll know that, I made a mental list of all the faces that bought Freddy that weekend! Oh, P.S thank you everyone that bought the Freddy piece over the weekend. And to all of those who came by, grabbed a card and seemed to have dug my illustrations, it was very much appreciated and I can't wait to do it again next year.
Convention Commissions
Here are some of the sketch commissions I did over the last two days. From top to bottom. After I had did the awesome Oraguntan sketch, things went the way I was expecting them. My buddy that I used to work with Dan came by with his brother Darren and asked me to do a Cylon sketch for him. That was on Saturday. The next sketch is of Pyramid Head, one of the first things I had done Sunday morning when I got there. I got to have fun explaining what I was drawing to a Police Officer, it was pretty funny. The Spider Man drawing was just something I was doing to pass the time on Saturday, and before the day was done on Sunday I had given it away to a little girl wearing a Spider Man shirt. She didn't say anything, but she had a big smile on her face so I guess she liked it. Finally I had gotten a Mortal Kombat commission on Sunday of Noob Sibot fighting Ermac, I had another one asked to do but because of the Con Cold I was focusing on trying to fight the whole day, I had forgotten to take a picture of. The other was of Noob Sibot again, but this time punching Shao Khan in the face, wish I had remembered to take a picture of that. Anyways, the last one here was another one I was doing to pass the time on Saturday, I thought about what might happen when to Time Travelers meet, I pictured it like when cartoons finds themselves in "nowhere" and its all white. So I did the obvious Time LORD, the Doctor, and had him meeting with a pair of duuuudes I grew up loving, Bill and Ted, and I couldn't have them in there without George RIP. While I was drawing this I had someone come by and say they liked it and would come by later to pick it up when its finished, well he never did, so on Sunday I ended up giving it away to a guy who looked just like the Doctor. He thanked me a lot.
First Fan Expo Commission
Kevin had come up to me and ask, "Hey, so you do commission sketches?". Of course I said yeah, and was eager to do my first commission. He then leaned in and said "Can you do an Orangoutang in a doctor/dentist jacket? Maybe have him at a bar having a rye." I uneasily said yes, and found myself stuck with a commission I had no idea how to draw. In fact, my first words to Jeff was "How the fuck do you draw an Orangoutang?!" But thanks to Dean and Meaghan they found me some reference. Needless to say, its a first Con Commission I will never forget.
Stealth Elementz - STEALTH Mix Tape Cd Cover touch up
This is something I had done last summer, but I had touched up recently on photoshop to really bring out the colours. This is the mix tape for a local Hamilton Hip Hop artist by the name of Stealth Elementz. To hear a song from this mix tape click on the link here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=adODR6U3cVA and it will take you to one of the music videos off this mix tape entitled "They Say Sean Is". Get out there and support your local music.
FAN EXPO!!!!!!
It is now upon us, less than a week away is Toronto's Fan Expo. Which features Comic, Gaming, Horror, Sci-Fi and Anime conventions all rolled into one! I'm very excited to be apart of it this year and to be selling my artwork alongside three school chums, Adam, Dean and Jeff. Our table is A66 on the floor plan, be sure to get one so you can find us, though we seem to have a great spot. We are just behind the Warner Bros. and Marvel booths! Definitely getting some traffic around there. And I'm specifically happy about WB being close because of my Mortal Kombat pieces. And if I can, I'll be bringing one extra special secret piece to sell alongside the MK ones. Who will it be? Just like the secret characters of MK you'll have to wait and see.
Baraka
And there we have it folks, my MK series of illustrations are done. To look back and see the others check under my Posters section along the side.
Now I'll be looking towards the future with a couple of projects on the way. I'm finishing a logo for my father's running club which is a probono thing. But I'm also going to be starting on something called Horse Cop, where I'll be doing character sketches. I'm working with a couple of gentlemen who had created the idea, and are planning on pitching this as a cartoon. Adult Swim comedy meets HBO series is what they are driving for. I'm pretty excited to work on the project and hope that my influence on character creation might help this thing see the light of day.
I'll probably be working on designs in a week or so because I'll be moving to Etobicoke next week. Back to school in September, starting my Bachelors in Design and I can't wait to get started.

Back, Back, Down, Low Punch
These have been really fun to draw, Mortal Kombat takes me back to when I was really young. I had started playing this game since it first came out, and I had to have been either 4 or 5 at the time when MKI did. I remember the hubbub about how violent and graphic the game was (for its time, GTA was astill an over hang view). MKII had to of been my favourite though, because I could finally play as Reptile, my favourit out of the different ninjas in the game. This was the one fatality that I did all the time to my friends, Back, Back, Down, Low Punch. Reptile would take off his mask and well...as you can see, treat himself to a snack.
It's also getting down to the wire now. I'm only a month away from the FanExpo in Toronto and I'm also getting ready to move to Etobicoke with my cousin as well. Only Baraka is left to colour and I should have that done by tomorrow or Thursday.
Reptile Fatality
Here is the Fatality sketch I've been working on. Now time to start colouring this and Baraka for the Fan Expo. After a long thought process over what I'll be selling at the Fan Expo this year, it will pretty much consist of the Mortal Kombat pin ups I've been working on here.
Baraka Finished Pencils
Finished drawing of Baraka. I decided against the Kano drawing and am going to try and do a Finishing move sketch.
Electronic Funk Portrait almost finished
Here's the portrait I've been working on for the past while, which is going to be the cover of my friends album, he goes by Electronic Funk Orchestra making house, techno, dub step and other electronica styles of dance music. He's a local Hamiltonian too, I'll be posting the finished CD cover once it's done with more information on how you can check out his music and where to pick up the CD.
Baraka Sketch
Baraka sketch I started working on today. I had an idea for a Kano sketch as well, but I need to fix that one up still.
