Never had a fear of going to the bathroom. Just thought I'd say that off the bat, this was more inspired by the scene in "Look Who's Talking" when the kid has the nightmare of the toilet wanting his peepee. Anyways, something for school, but I think I might sell this as a whole piece at the Fan Expo in August. Already plottin' and schemin' on what I'll be bringing new this year.

Stained....
Yeah so, it's been awhile since I posted anything on here. Been real busy, for those who have facebook, please be sure to follow me on there as well at www.facebook.com/doodlesundertheinfluence
Onto some of the work I've been doing since last semester,
These three pieces were done in November for Mindbender Supreme, a Toronto emcee who's been running a muck around the underground of Toronto's hip hop scene for over a decade. I got this job through OurSis Sam, a promoter based out of Hamilton. The photos were taken by a dude named Christoph, and I just manipulated colours and filters on photoshop.
I've started to get more work doing gig posters since Mindbender, this one here is for Everyday People, a hip hop (and I do mean HIP HOP) group based out of Hamilton. EDP is, Part Mada, Sin Yung, Pranx and DJ Kryme Won. This show is coming up in March, don't miss it!
This is the newest poster I've done for the Steel Gold shows that happen the first Thursday of every month. Next one is a biggie, and features myself and my comrade G performing as The Genius and The Demon. This show happens March 1st!
This here was the cover I did for Gavin and I's rap duo, The Genius and The Demon "Weird Science and the Spiritual Side of Things". This is the third release we've put out and it was released on Friday the 13th January, 2012. to check it out www.thegeniusandthedemon.bandcamp.com
Every year I make a Christmas card for my family, so this year I went with the Dark Knight, Batman. This was the first time I added colour to the cards.
Onto some more recent School Work, here's a piece where we combined two feelings and create something. I took love and greet and mixed it with Primus and took the names off some albums and used that imagery to describe greed.
This one involved having to find a song with a social or political statement behind it. I went with Hamilton emcee, Lee Reed's The Bank from his latest release Emergency Broadcast.
This wasn't for school, but is one of the latest commissioned illustration I did for a friend of mine Dan.
Other than all this, I've still been working a lot on HC stuff, hopefully I can start posting character designs soon. I've start working on storyboards for the guys to animate, I've also been doing a bit of animation/illustration for Dominant Factor, a group of videographers and graphic designers based out of Hamilton and Toronto.
AND also just got word today about FAN EXPO 2012! Myself and my three friends, Jeff, Dean and Adam will all be there again to sell, showcase and draw for all you lovely people.

Fan Expo Exclusive Piece
So here's the exclusive piece I did at the Fan Expo, whoever bought the piece there has something no one else will be able to buy (that's why its exclusive). Robert Englund was there for the weekend and no, unfortunately I had little time to dedicate to going to see him, and the week approaching the Convention I had wanted to do one more piece and why not do the character that scared the living piss out of me as a child. Freddy Krueger used to terrify me when I was younger, and it wasn't until I was old enough to realize that scary movies are actually hilarious (thank you desensitization). So, sure you can sit there and save the image as and print off your own copy, but you didn't get it from me and I'll know that, I made a mental list of all the faces that bought Freddy that weekend! Oh, P.S thank you everyone that bought the Freddy piece over the weekend. And to all of those who came by, grabbed a card and seemed to have dug my illustrations, it was very much appreciated and I can't wait to do it again next year.
Baraka
And there we have it folks, my MK series of illustrations are done. To look back and see the others check under my Posters section along the side.
Now I'll be looking towards the future with a couple of projects on the way. I'm finishing a logo for my father's running club which is a probono thing. But I'm also going to be starting on something called Horse Cop, where I'll be doing character sketches. I'm working with a couple of gentlemen who had created the idea, and are planning on pitching this as a cartoon. Adult Swim comedy meets HBO series is what they are driving for. I'm pretty excited to work on the project and hope that my influence on character creation might help this thing see the light of day.
I'll probably be working on designs in a week or so because I'll be moving to Etobicoke next week. Back to school in September, starting my Bachelors in Design and I can't wait to get started.

Back, Back, Down, Low Punch
These have been really fun to draw, Mortal Kombat takes me back to when I was really young. I had started playing this game since it first came out, and I had to have been either 4 or 5 at the time when MKI did. I remember the hubbub about how violent and graphic the game was (for its time, GTA was astill an over hang view). MKII had to of been my favourite though, because I could finally play as Reptile, my favourit out of the different ninjas in the game. This was the one fatality that I did all the time to my friends, Back, Back, Down, Low Punch. Reptile would take off his mask and well...as you can see, treat himself to a snack.
It's also getting down to the wire now. I'm only a month away from the FanExpo in Toronto and I'm also getting ready to move to Etobicoke with my cousin as well. Only Baraka is left to colour and I should have that done by tomorrow or Thursday.
Spider Jerusalem Finished
Here's my finished Spider Jerusalem. I'm not quite sure what he's destroyed but you can be sure it involves explosives and puppies.
Down, Forward, LP
Here's my Sub Zero colouring done. I got word a week ago that my friends and I... HAVE OUR TABLE FOR FAN EXPO!!! So, I will be soon, getting copies of most of these finished pieces I've done in the past few months.
Back, back, LP
Scorpion digitally painted on photoshop. GET OVER HERE! Also, I know that originally the move is back, back a, but for those who weren't around or old enough to have played the original Kombat (I'm in my twenties and making myself feel old) I settled for the up to date version of delivering the move. I give you "Back, back, LP"
Goro painting
After enjoying doing my quick self portrait in this sort of style, I thought I'd try it some more with Goro from Mortal Kombat. I'm working on Scorpion as well, and should be starting the Sub Zero drawing tomorrow.
Ghostbusters...finished as it ever will be.
Here it is finished now. Although I know I could work on this for probably another month or so, I think of Banksy and the quote of his I have on my computer desk; "I've learned from experience that a painting isn't finished when you put down your brush--that's when it starts." Lately my confidence has been a bit shaky, unsure of my quality and style. But I try to chock it up to experience and knowing what to change for the next piece in the future. Which I'm thinking is going to be a couple pin up pieces of some Female characters.
Finished Inks
Finished inks for Ghostbusters poster, a couple mistakes here and there but ill be fixing those up in photoshop than going to paint it in photoshop.
Ghostbusters Ink part1
Continuing on, here is the inking stage almost finished, just a couple things here and there to fill in and then I'll be moving along to painting this sucker.
Ghostbusters Pencils
I'm going to post the progress of this piece as it goes along. I'm going to start inking soon. Just need to sus out the background.
Ghostbusters Rough
Keeping up with doing pieces for the convention at the end of the summer, I've decided to do some other stuff besides super heroes. I've been a huge fan of the Ghostbusters since I can remember, I honestly had almost every toy that they put out (very much regretting getting rid of it over the years when I was younger). Anyways, I've decided to do a Ghostbusters poster.
On another note, I just figure I might as well put my two cents in on this whole Rob Granito business. If you havn't heard about it, seriously where the hell have you been the past two days? Having a life? Pssshhh. Yeah, just google it, it'll explain it better than I. Anyways, my thoughts on this whole business is the guys a loser. At first, my blood boiled when I first heard the news of this fraud. I come from a hardworking, blue collar family, I've been taught all my life that in order to get anywhere you have to put in your work. When I see people coasting along or cheating their way to success, it really "grinds my gears". But, after a day of peering into this frauds life, seeing how he's handling his whole ousting from the art industry, it's become very very funny. I feel as though because of this whole experience and how most professionals are dealing with this guy, I've matured as an artist. I realize, most of the pros (granted are angered at this) are laughing at him. I didn't understand at first, but this morning I see it. They know this guys not going to last very long, he's getting his 15 minutes of fame and will be forgotten about in the next few months. They've seen these people before come and go, their will always be someone trying to rip someone else off, this guy just seemed to have done it under the radar for awhile and got away with it, so congrats to that Rob. Enjoy the money you've made, and I hope you've put it in a savings account. Perhaps you can put it towards going to school for art, gaining your own style of drawing, than try to get back into the industry under a different name...maybe where a mask too.

The Herald and his Master
There we go, finished..I think.. this is kind of off topic but I have a point. I recently read an interview some magazine had with the mysterious street artist Banksy. In it he was asked how he knows when he's finished a piece, to which he responded " I've learned from experience that a painting isn't finished when you put down your brush - that's when it starts." I enjoy inspiring or just logical quotes, and constantly write them down on my art tables or where ever I can as soon as I hear them. So, yeah, as much as I can keep working on this Silver Surfer and Galactus piece, I've put my brush down and am moving on to the next thing. I'm going to show this around at the convention today and I'm pretty sure I already know what kind of critiques I'll be getting. Good or bad doesn't matter, it all helps.
Silver Surfer & Galactus
Galactus hungers for more!!
This is the first half of a painting I'm doing of the Silver Surfer, herald of the Devourer of Planets Galactus. He's just finished leading the big G to another planet which is now destroyed. This was done in gouache as well. I did this in about 4...5 hoursish?
Wolverine For Con pencils
Here's the next piece I'm working on for the Convention in the summer. Everyone's favourite Canadian, getting his animal on howling at the moon. I like drawing Wolvi in more of the animalistic take, he's fucking nuts and a lot of people forget that about his character. For those younger fans of Wolverine, if you can find them, get ahold of the classic Astonishing X-Men and you'll see the real side of Wolverine. Not the slightly pussier version we have today.
Scott Pilgrim Covers 1-5
I've been busting these out the past few days, the 6th cover having a bit more detail to it, I'll spend more time on that one. These though, are Scott Pilgrim volume 1 to 5 covers. Just the pencils so far, going to ink them once I've finished 6 and than digitally colour them all. I'm enjoying this a lot, but I need to think of some other pieces for the con still.
